Ulrike R.Birnbaum is a German designer and consultant, specializing in brand and visual identity. Her business clients include the Walt Disney Company, the Ritz Carlton Hotels, Swarovski, and Pixar. To name a few, she also worked with Zandra Rhodes, Victoria Beckham, and designed for Mats Hummels, Tamara Ecclestone or the Oetker Family. With her studio based in Munich and New York, she designs lighting for customers on local and international projects. Alongside creative work and engineering services, she provides advice to companies & corporations on the impact of lighting on customer experience, public image & increased profitability through optimization and redevelopment of the existing designs.
As founder of Continuum Studios, Ulrike is one of the only few German design consultants, who run an independent business with no manufacturer affiliation. Prior to running her design agency, she served in London (UK) & New York (USA) as principal designer and project manager to one of the world's leading creative agencies: Imagnation Ltd. She also served as senior designer to ARUP - the world's leading engineering business - and the English National Opera in London (UK).
According to her clients, she is a `very effective and focused consultant and professional who is able to advise on the interlinked disciplines of design and public image`. She is said to be an expert who `understands the economic relevance of designing for a client with broad public presence`. Her clients references also highlight that `she's skilled and very thoughtful in the way she approaches projects, and has a great understanding to put plans into action`.
In addition to her business , she supports the projects of the International DarkSky Association in helping stop light pollution and protect the night skies - who are to be considered as ancient World Heritage - for present and future generations.
